Terms of Service

Scope

These terms apply to the ShortCuta app and the website shortcuta.com, offered by Davut Alper Caliskan (contact details in the Imprint).

Buying a license

You buy a license from Polar Software Inc., which resells ShortCuta. Polar’s Buyer Terms apply to the purchase, and these terms to using ShortCuta.

A license runs ShortCuta for one year from the day you buy it, on up to 3 computers at a time. It doesn’t renew on its own: to keep using ShortCuta after the year, you buy a new license.

Refunds

If ShortCuta isn’t for you, write to hi@shortcuta.com within 14 days of buying your license, from the email address you bought it with, and you get the full price back. You don’t need to give a reason.

The refund ends the license: its key stops working, and ShortCuta stops when it next checks the license.

This doesn’t limit your rights under consumer law, such as a right of withdrawal.

Your content

You are responsible for the videos you make and publish with ShortCuta. Only clip and publish streams you have the right to use, for example with the streamer’s permission.

When ShortCuta uses Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Anthropic or OpenAI for you, their terms apply to you too. By connecting a YouTube channel you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.

AI features

Suggestions from Claude or Codex, such as clips, caption fixes, layouts and titles, can be wrong. Check every Short before you publish it.

Availability

We don’t guarantee that ShortCuta is always available or free of errors. Features that rely on other services can stop working when those services change or end their APIs.

Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz).

For slight negligence, we are liable only if we breach an essential obligation: one that the proper use of ShortCuta depends on, and on which you may regularly rely. Our liability is then limited to the damage that is typical and foreseeable in such cases. Otherwise our liability is excluded.

Changes

We may change these terms. The version on this page applies from the date at the top.

Governing law

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
